Jun Fan Jeet Kune DoTM
Fact: The name Jun Fan Jeet Kune DoTM was adopted by the Nucleus by unanimous resolution
(January 10-11, 1996).  Lee Jun Fan was Bruce Lee’s
TM  given birth name.  Bruce LeeTM added
Jun Fan to his teaching of Gung Fu upon his arrival to the United States.  In 1967, Sijo Bruce Lee
TM
named his all-encompassing art Jeet Kune Do.  Since the Nucleus felt that Jun Fan Gung Fu and
Jeet Kune Do
TM cannot and should not be separated, it was decided that the two terms be
combined.  In this manner, the Nucleus would distinguish the complete body of technical and
philosophical knowledge studied and taught by Bruce Lee
TM during his lifetime.

My Opinion: There were certain facets that added styles and methods in their entirety, personal
opinions and personal truths; who’s teachings went against all that Bruce Lee
TM stood for or even
more appropriate, stood against.  These instructors called their confused interpretations Jeet
Kune Do
TM.  I believe that the Nucleus needed to separate themselves from the prostitution of
Bruce Lee’s
TM art of Jeet Kune Do.  Therefore, there had to be a separation from those that just
didn't get it.  Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do
TM signifies that which Bruce LeeTM taught and practiced during
his lifetime.  Therefore the Nucleus respectfully drew a distinct line between them and methods
developed by sects after Bruce Lee’s
TM death.  Taking what is useful and discarding what is not
was being distorted.  The Nucleus was looking long-term to protect the legacy of Bruce Lee
TM and
the original art of Jeet Kune Do
TM.

To further clarify, Sigung Ted Wong is a practitioner of “Original” Jeet Kune Do
TM as Bruce LeeTM
taught him, practiced and evolved from 1967 to his death in 1973.  The term Original also draws a
definite distinction from other crowds.  Original practitioners stay true to Bruce Lee’s
TM teachings
rather than dilute and twist his words and guidance for personal gain.
